Found my favorite little local red faced jumper around the yard again. This time I found him/her jumping around on the driveway to our house. Not the kind of spider to sit still for more than a second, I had to constantly chase and cut off it’s pathway back to the lawn so that I could snap off a couple of shots before allowing it to spring back into it’s hiding grounds of weeds and grass.

Interestingly this ended up looking much more like a painting or airbrush work, but I assure you that this is a real photograph and a real spider!

Even if you’re not particularly a fan of spiders and arachnids, there is just something about jumping spiders that makes them appear to be very curious and personable little creatures. I definitely find them to be the most fascinating of the spider world. There are some who might even label them as ‘cute’!

Tiny creepy crawly things in macro!
My latest point and shoot camera, which actually has a decent detailed macro mode, allowed me to see for the first time, how interesting the tiny bug world can actually be! This little jumping spider, who was no bigger than a grain of rice, displayed some striking metallic colors when viewed close up!
